Una Historia Necesaria

The Chilean video initiative (a series of 16 shorts) is a dramatized and televised series of events that transpired in Chile 1974. The significance of the project is that for the first time, testimonies of human rights violations during that period have reached – today – an audience of over 22 million viewers!! Who can argue with that number!

The series has sparked much debate, nationally and internationally. It is an undeniable heart-wrenching testimony of what occurred. As a matter of fact, as a result, several cases of Human Rights abuses have been reopened and brought back in front of Chile’s Supreme Court.

In addition, forty-three years later, the impact of the Chilean Coup d’Etat, has generated a remarcable Cultural/Artistic movement that it is presently taking place and is transforming how the new generations see themselves as a Nation.
